Portofino's most popular loaf, made with Canadian wheat and a long fermentation for deep flavour. Vegan-friendly.
Artisan Loaves are a type of bread that get a little extra attention during the baking process. Going through a special two day process to develop deep flavor and texture, these loaves are made with the highest quality ingredients.
Ingredients: unbleached white flour, water, oat fibre, barley malt syrup, sea salt, yeast, malted barley flour, ascorbic acid, citric acid, calcium sulfate, canola oil, enzymes.
The bakery uses Vancouver Island-grown wheat in two of their popular loaves, the Vancouver Island Wholegrain Artisan Loaf, and the Vancouver Island Harvest Pan Loaf. The wheat is grown in Metchosin and on the Saanich Peninsula, and the flour is milled on-site at the Portofino bakery.
