This kit was designed with the beginner home-grower in mind. Everything you need is included, no special equipment or prior knowledge is necessary.
Lion's Mane is Foragers Galley's most popular kit! Renowned for its remarkable medicinal properties, this strain is exceptionally reliable and has a mild, clean, earthy flavour and a meaty texture. It delivers consistently impressive yields. However, it's important to exercise caution and avoid letting the "hairs" grow excessively long, despite their visually appealing appearance. While it may look super cool, prolonged growth negatively impacts both the flavour and the shelf life of the mushrooms. To fully savour the Lion's Mane experience, we highly recommend trying our Lion's Mane "Crab Cakes" preparation method, which promises to elevate your culinary delight.
Foragers Galley recommends using your kit within two weeks of purchase, though its shelf life can be increased to around 4 weeks if kept refrigerated.

Myceliated substrate block - the ingredients used to grow your mushrooms are simply legume hulls and sawdust. The growing medium is 100% compostable and makes amazing fertilizer.
Humidity tent - mushrooms thrive in a high humidity environment, so we've designed a simple yet effective "greenhouse" solution using the lid of your Grow Kit.
Spray bottle - keep your mushroom hydrated! Included in your kit is a 50ml misting bottle to spritz your crop twice a day.

Brendan Harris, Janusz Urban, and Jon Wright have been pals since their early days of sailing, fishing and filling buckets with oysters. While Brendan and Janusz were spending fringe seasons in the forest picking wild mushrooms, Jon took it all to the next level with a mushroom farm.
