Farmer Ben's free-run eggs are from chickens in wide-open barns with 24/7 access to nutritional feed and fresh water. They're given private clean nests for laying their eggs, scratch pads, and foraging material inside the barn to promote natural activity. Their hens are raised without the use of hormones, antibiotics or steroids.

Farmer Ben's Eggs is a 3rd generation family farm, owned and operated currently by Ian and Jennifer Woike. Ben, Ian's father, started the egg layer farm in 1980, branching out to the grading and wholesale business with Ian in 1994. Ian and Ben have proudly been providing safe, fresh nutritious eggs to Vancouver Island for over 4 decades.Ian currently manages the company on a daily basis with the help of 18 employees. Jennifer manages the marketing and public relations at Farmer Ben's.
In addition to running the company, Ian and Jennifer have raised 3 children on the farm. All 3 children have been involved with the farm, while their second son has cultivated a passion for agriculture and stepped up to assist Ian with day to day operations.
"Our eggs are always 100% Island produced. We are a locally owned and family run egg production and wholesale operation, located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island.
Our farm operates independently, without any government subsidies and we respect our natural resources and are mindful of the environmental impacts of our products. Our hens are raised without the use of hormones, antibiotics or steroids, and exceed animal welfare standards set out by the Egg Farmers of Canada. We're proud to have the first and only Enriched Housing in our state-of-the-art layer barn, operating since the Spring of 2019.
Each egg is laid by hens free from hormones, antibiotics and steroids. Our birds are housed within 2.5 km of our grading station, creating a minimal carbon footprint. This care and respect for the environment and nutrition extend to the customer."
Farmer Ben's is an active community participant and donates many dollars back into the community that supports them.
