This oak-leaf-shaped lettuce has a tender, buttery texture and a mellow, nutty, and sweet flavour.
Grown in towers without pesticides in greenhouses in south Duncan, these local lettuce heads are picked fresh. Leaving the moist roots intact keeps the delicate lettuce fresh and nutrient-rich for much longer.
Approx 3-4oz head in a plastic sleeve.

EcoGreen Farms
Ecogreen Farms started in 2020 when the Schartner family moved to Vancouver Island from Grande Prairie to begin a new life in the beautiful Cowichan Valley! We have been so blessed to be unequivocally accepted into this wonderful community, and we thank you all for that. Our farm is situated on Bench road in south Duncan. We have a 4000 ft² greenhouse and are focusing primarily on lettuce as we want to fill a local demand that has not been serviced until now.
We grow our produce in vertical food grade FRP towers, using rockwool to start our seeds and transfer them to our towers after they are established. The towers rain a nutrient rich solution onto the roots, providing all the required food for the plants during their life cycle. This creates a "living lettuce" plant that gets picked fresh out of the towers and comes straight to your kitchen.
We commit to the following:
-Keeping our operation natural and pesticide/insecticide free.
-Creating the highest quality locally grown food using Canada's "Best Agricultural Practices".
-Keeping our operations and returns as local as possible.
-Running an ethical and community-centric family business.
